NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A group of radio deejays has been trying to bring a new kind of radio station to Music City, and Friday night, they were out drumming up support for the cause.
Friday afternoon, board members of WXNA set up at Yazoo Brewing Company to raise awareness for the project and to encourage residents to donate to their crowdfunding campaign.
The board members hoped hosting live events like this will increase WXNA's visibility and help grow their fan base.
"We like to say we're going to be small but mighty,” said Randy Fox, of WXNA Radio. “We're not going to have a real powerful signal, you're going to have to kind of be in the urban core of Nashville to pick us up, but what we want is that everybody within that urban core is listening to us, and anybody who lives outside of our broadcast area, they're going to know where the borderline is and as soon as they get there, they're going be flipping over to our station."
