NASHVILLE, Tenn. - It was a deal that sounded too good to be true, but it wasn't.

Every year thousands of people have received new or gently used clothing and school uniforms for free.

The event took place Saturday at the Tusculum Church of Christ in South Nashville.

There was even free childcare available for shoppers.

One mother, Brenda Suggs, woke up extra early to get a good place in line. She said her daughter is starting school this year and added the free clothing was definitely helpful.

“It’s just an outpouring of care and love from the church for the community, and I’m grateful,” Suggs said. “And I think there’s a lot of other people here that are grateful, too.”

This was the 18th year for the "Caring by Sharing" event at The Tusculum Church of Christ.
