NASHVILLE, Tenn (WTVF) — Homicide detectives and fatal crash officers are investigating the death of 32-year-old Ashley Rodgers. She was run over while lying in the parking lot of the Marathon market on the 2800 block of Jefferson Street.

North Precinct officers responded to the market at 1:46 a.m. Monday, November 9. Rodgers was seriously injured and was rushed by ambulance to a hospital where she died during surgery.

Detectives are working to determine whether or not Rodgers was intentionally hit. However, Rodgers' family says this was no accident.

"She wasn’t just hit once but she was at three times they hit her, backed up over her then went back again; so it was intentional," said Azsha Rodgers-Quaye, sister.

Rodgers-Quaye says she has no clue who would do this to her sister.

"Her intentions are good; she’s gotten wrapped up with bad people at different times in her life but she had a good heart, said Rodgers-Quaye. "She was giving and she was compassionate."

And this younger sister is asking for peace.

Police don't have a suspect just a surveillance photo of a silver 2012 to 2014 Hyundai Elantra they believed ran over Ashley.

"If anybody has information just think about your own siblings, just think about your own family and if this happened to you. At this point I can’t get my sister back; but that’s the next best thing is to find out who did this so that justice can be served for our family so we can gain some type of closure."

The family is asking for help with financial expenses, they've set up a GoFundMeaccount.

Anyone with information about the Elantra, including whether Rodgers may have had any connection to its driver, was asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
