COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – A young father is now facing neglect charges surrounding the death of his infant daughter.
James Green was arrested by deputies in White County Tuesday after being indicted by the Van Buren County Grand Jury.
The 20-year-old is facing aggravated child neglect charges following the death of his 7-month-old daughter back in January.
The infant died January 25th in an apartment on Drake Street in Spencer. Van Buren County deputies were called to the home after receiving a call of an unresponsive infant.
A Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said 7-month-old Brooklyn Green died from asphyxiation after sleeping in bed with her father.
Green was transported to the Van Buren County Jail. His bond will be set at $50,000.
