NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man has been taken into custody after his toddler was found wandering naked outside in Hermitage.

Officials with Metro police said the 2-year-old was seen walking in the intersection of Rachel’s View and Andrew Jackson Parkway on Monday.

Neighbors took the child in, put a diaper on him and gave him something to drink. Police said he was very hot and dehydrated.

At the same time, kids were getting off a school bus nearby. They recognized the boy and pointed police to where he lived.

His father, Steven Dodd, told officers the child was his but he was scared of him because the child was "God.” He claimed the child regularly removes his clothes and he can’t control him.

According to an affidavit, he also said he’d just smoked marijuana, calling it "the best weed of his life.”

Dodd was taken into custody and charged with aggravated child neglect.

The child’s mother was called at work and came home to take custody of the boy.
