NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police say they’re searching for a gunman after a father and child were shot at a stop light in Nashville.
The shooting happened around 7:45 p.m. Thursday the family was stopped at a red light on Bell Road, just west of the Percy Priest Dam near Interstate 40.
While the father and child were sitting at the light, police say a silver sedan pulled up and someone started shooting. Both the father and young child were struck by bullets.
The mother was in the car behind them and saw the shooting. Police say she helped the pair get into her car, and she drove them to the hospital. Both suffered minor injuries.
Investigators say they’re still working to identify the gunman. A motive for the shooting was not known.
