NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — 10-year-old Alex, 8-year-old Sophia and 2-year-old Ryder Calhoun wanted one thing more than anything for Christmas. They had asked Santa to bring their dad home for the holidays.
Aaron Calhoun is in the Navy and spent this last year in Bahrain. Bahrain is located in the Middle East. His wife, Wanda, helped set up the big surprise at Opry Mills. Wanda would take the kids to see Santa. While talking to Santa, Aaron would come out and surprise them.
"Talking to them daily does almost no justice to actually seeing them in person," said Aaron Calhoun, "So its good, it's really good."
Alex, Sophia and Ryder got to welcome their dad home in front of family and friends. The kids didn’t think their dad would be back until January 11th so to be able to spend Christmas and New Years with him is a true blessing.
"Just having him home, I can’t even describe it," said Wanda Calhoun.
Aaron has been deployed for nearly a year. He will now be able to spend the next few weeks home in Hermitage.
