JAMESTOWN, Tenn. (WTVF) — A traffic stop in Fentress County resulted in drug bust Thursday.
A Fentress County Sheriff's Department deputy conducted the traffic stop yesterday on Melissa Byrd and her passenger, Dallas Lavender.
During a search of their vehicle, the Sheriff's Department and Jamestown Police Department located a large amount of cash, totaling above $12,000.
In addition to the money, officers also found multiple types of drugs, comprising nearly 10 grams of marijuana, half a gram of powder cocaine and crack cocaine each, 5 units of acid and 3 oxycodone pills.
Byrd and Lavender were arrested and taken to the Fentress County Justice Center.
Byrd and Lavender were both charged with possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia and multiple counts of possession for resale of drug. Byrd was also charged for texting while driving.
Byrd's bond has been set at $50,000, while Lavender's bond has been set at $75,000.
