A fire that tore through a duplex located north of Nashville has been ruled suspicious by investigators.
The incident was reported before 5:30 a.m. Friday at a residence on Spears Road, not far from Brick Church Pike.
Fire officials said the blaze started in the basement, located on the left side of the duplex. No one was living in that portion of the residence.
No one was home when the blaze started. A call to 911 was made by someone passing by.
It's not known if electricity was running to the area where the fire originated.
No one was hurt. Those living in the right side of the residence have been displaced.
