Fire Evacuates Assisted Living Home Residents

A fire at an assisted living home in Mt. Juliet evacuated residents but was quickly extinguished.

The fire happened around 9 p.m. Friday at Mt. Juliet Health Care in the 2600 block of North Mt. Juliet Road.

Authorities said there was heavy smoke in the building. All residents were evacuated.

Firefighters located the room where the fire was and quickly put it out. The sprinkler system aided in containing the fire.

As a precaution, ambulances were called to the scene, but no injuries were reported.

All residents were accounted for. Housing arrangements were made, so no residents were displaced.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
