NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Nashville Fire Department reported administering a record number of Narcan doses during overdoses in 2018.
According to fire department officials, their use of Narcan on patients increased by 93 percent compared to 2017.
A total of 920 doses were given out in 2017 and it was administered to a total of 1,777 times in 2018.
Narcan is a drug used by first responders to reverse the effects of opioids during an overdose.
