The Fisk Jubilee Singers performed to a packed house in their free concert in honor of Black History Month.
Battle Ground Academy hosted the concert Friday night in Franklin.
The Fisk Jubilee Singers are known world-wide and are credited with introducing and preserving the musical tradition of negro spirituals.
"What Fisk wanted to convey was the sense of the pride in the black community when it comes to their music and I think that's what majority of people walking out of here tonight will get a sense of," said O.J. Fleming.
The Fisk Jubilee Singers will be celebrating the Ryman's 125th birthday with a sing-along next month with special guests like Rodney Atkins and Lee Ann Womack.
You can catch that Sunday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m.
