Football Champs Crowned at TSSAA Tournament

Posted
High school teams from across the state gathered in Cookeville for the TSSAA Championship bowl.

The Blue Cross Bowl at Tennessee Tech wasn't just a chance for high school teams from across the state to prove they're the best, but was also a chance for fans like Liam Mullen to show their worth as well.

"Team spirit, everybody is here we just want to come support our team," the high school senior said on Friday.

Most teams and their families spent at least one night in local hotels giving the economy in Cookeville a holiday touch down.

The tournament capped off what has been a long fall of hard work not just for players but for their parents.

"I'm proud to see him get to go this far and get to graduate too," said parent Velma Sayles about her son who plays for Nashville Christian School.

For these high school football teams, this tournament wasn't just about measuring up a season not just in inches, but in moments as well.
