NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Fraternal Order of Police sent a letter to Attorney General Glen Funk inviting him to attend diversity and inclusion training with metro police trainees.
The letter came after the DA apologized for posing with a Confederate flag in a 1982 fraternity photo from his college yearbook.
They reference Funk's recent apology, saying "As a person who has recently had evidence of apparent previous biases come to international attention, we would hope that, as a criminal justice leader in the community, you would assume a leadership role, see this as a positive opportunity to move past those allegations of any previous biases and seek to demonstrate reconciliation by participating in a recognized training program."
Funk has not yet responded to the FOP's letter.
