Former Church Treasurer Arrested On Theft Charge

Posted

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agents arrested a woman who was charged for allegedly stealing half a million dollars from the Clarksville church she was working for at the time.

Connie Parker, 71, was arrested Tuesday on one count of theft over $250,000.

TBI officials said Parker stole about $498,000 from the First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville while serving as Treasurer.

She was also believed to have manipulated accounting reports to the church’s board in an attempt to mask the crime.

She has since been let go from the church. On Tuesday, she was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
