MCMINNVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Two former Warren County corrections officers were charged for tampering with governmental records as result of an investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations.

On January 14, TBI began investigating the death of an inmate at the Warren County Jail. Through that investigation, TBI says corrections officers Zechariah Clark and Steven Mason did not conduct a required jail walk-through. Jail logs were also found to be altered at some point to show the walk-through had been completed.

Both men are no longer employed at the jail.

Clark, 22, and Mason, 28, were indicted by a grand jury on one count each of destruction and tampering with government records. They were arrested and booked into the Warren County Jail on Monday.
