The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office has been sued yet again, and this time it was brought by a former employee.
Deputy Chief - Virgil Gammon was fired back in September, and he said he wasn't given an explanation.
Sheriff Robert Arnold said in a statement Gammon's services were quote "no longer needed."
Gammon said he was fired in retaliation for blowing the whistle on illegal activity within the department.
His termination came amid allegations of profiteering by Sheriff Arnold in connection with his involvement to e-cigarettes sold in the jail.
Arnold was still under investigation, and faces at least three other unrelated lawsuits.
