FORT CAMPBELL (WTVF) — Growing tensions in the Middle East are affecting operations at Fort Campbell. So, the Army post has increased security at all of its gates until further notice.

A man has been arrested after he posted threats toward Fort Campbell on social media. According to Hopkinsville police, Jordan Haskins posted online "Fort Campbell count ya days when Iran give me the drop ITZZZ UP." He also posted, “Iran I come to you as your most humble Warrior what is my mission,” on Facebook.

Haskins is charged with third-degree terroristic threatening. That charge is considered to be a class A misdemeanor.

The Fort Campbell commander did not provide details of the additional security measures but say it will take longer to get in.

Fort Campbell leaders say there are no credible threats against this installation, its Soldiers, or the unit.

All of this comes after a U.S. drone killed the top Iranian General. Then, the Department of Defense announced nearly 3,500 troops from Fort Bragg in North Carolina deployed to Kuwait to serve as reinforcements.

At this point, no announcements have been made about Fort Campbell troops deploying to that area.
