HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A foundation named in honor of a fallen 9/11 firefighter has pledged to help the family of officer Spencer Bristol by paying off their mortgage.

Bristol died last week when he was hit by a vehicle while chasing a suspect on I-65 near Goodlettsville. He leaves behind a wife and a young daughter.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s Fallen First Responder Home Program supports the families of first responders killed in the line of duty. Since 2015, more than 40 families have received a mortgage-free home. Click here to donate.

The foundation was named in honor of FDNY firefighter Stephen Siller, who died saving others on September 11, 2001. The group says to date, they’ve spent more $125 million to honor and support the families of first responders and veterans.
