Four people injured in Clarksville dog attack

Four people were injured during a dog attack in Clarksville. The victims' wounds were so bad, the 911 caller initially reported the incident as a shooting.

It happened around noon Monday on at a home on Riley Road.

According to Clarksville Police officials, a tri-colored pit bull attacked his owner. The man suffered several wounds and was screaming in pain when police arrived.

Three other people, two men and a woman, were injured while trying to contain the dog inside of the trailer.

Officers found the woman had been bitten and was semi-conscious sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle, one the men was bitten on his left arm and throat area and the other man was bitten on his legs.

The owner, woman and man who suffered bits to his arm and neck were all transported to Tennova Medical Center for treatment. The man who was bitten in the legs refused transport.

Police said they didn't know why the dog attacked. Animal Care and Control arrived and took the tri-colored pit bull into custody.
