FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WTVF) — This year's Franklin Wine Festival, which benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee, has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event was supposed to be held on Oct. 9. Organizers said Thursday that they decided to postpone the event, saying “staying safe and taking care of our community is most important.”
Organizers said the event is responsible for raising $250,000. They hope to raise $40,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters' #KeepKidsConnected campaign and asked the public for donations.
The nonprofit organization creates and supports one-on-one relationships with kids and their mentors.
“You’re the reason Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee serves this community by bringing people together for the life-changing mentorship in their lives,” organizers said in an email.
