NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Local restaurants are offering free meals to first responders and people affected by Saturday's downtown explosion.
White Duck Taco Shop and Prince's Hot Chicken will provide those impacted with lunch and dinner at 6th & Peabody and Ole Smoky Distillery at 423 6th Avenue South this weekend.
Pucketts will also be delivering more than 200 meals to AT&T workers Sunday. That's after delivering 70 hot meals to first responders at the bombing scene Friday.
Over 40 buildings, including businesses and residences, were damaged Christmas morning when an RV exploded on 2nd Avenue. The area is still a designated crime scene under FBI investigation. Nashville leaders have informed everyone to stay clear of downtown.
At a press conference Saturday afternoon, FBI officials said they hope to have the outer area of the scene turned over to the city in the next one to two days.
