A 60-year-old Franklin woman was remembered by family members and friends for all of the ways she gave her time to countless people and organizations throughout Williamson County.
Robbin Holland was hit by an SUV Friday night after she pulled over to help an injured dog along Hillsboro Road. Both Holland and the dog died.
"At first I was like, dang nabbit Robbin, you know? You're mad at her for putting herself in a dangerous situation for another one of God's creatures," said Johnny Peppers, who is a close friend of Holland. "But then you realize of course she was there, of course she was doing that. She felt called to help dogs, cats, fish, children, adults - anyone in need."
For Peppers, Holland will hold a special place in his heart because of her involvement in one of the most challenging and unexpected transitions of his life.
Two years ago, he and his wife fostered and ultimately adopted five siblings, all under the age of five.
"We didn't have to ask her, we didn't have to tell her we needed help. She was there holding the baby. She was there reading to the children. She just kind of became a part of our family," Peppers said. "And those kids were magnetized by her, there's a big hole in their lives now."
Holland also served as an announcer at Franklin High School football games for several years, raised money for a Nashville pregnancy and adoption center called Miriam's Promise, and coached youth soccer.
Her funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Bethlehem United Methodist Church.
