GALLATIN, Tenn. (WTVF) — The City of Gallatin's Senior Roundtable Committee has created an online directory for seniors. The directory lists service providers for seniors that have physical locations in Gallatin.

"The Mayor's Office often receives requests for information related to housing, transportation and other senior services," Gallatin Mayor Paige Brown said. "Sometimes we share Google results only to find the best referral might have been within our city limits. With so much information out there, we tasked the Senior Roundtable to develop a simple listing of local contacts so seniors and caregivers can easily find what they need."

The eight-page directory is available on the City of Gallatin's website.

Listings are organized by categories, like activities, transportation and health, but will be expanded to include local programs.

The Senior Roundtable Committee is inviting community programs to provide program information for inclusion in the directory. Churches and other organizations that offer activities or services are encouraged to take one of two surveys, either the Older Adult Ministry Survey or the Older Adult Activity Survey.

"As we develop a comprehensive plan for the next 25 hours, livability in Gallatin has to include more resources for our older population," Mayor Brown said. "While the market will fill in some of the gaps, caring individuals and volunteers should be a part of what makes Gallatin a nice place for seniors."
