FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Officials were called to the scene of a gas line rupture at a shopping center in Franklin Tuesday morning.
Officials with the Franklin Fire Department responded to the Maples Shopping Center, situated between Interstate 65 ad Mack Hatcher Parkway, due to reports of a gas leak.
In a Tweet, the department said 18 businesses were evacuated as a precaution. Initial reports did not indicate any hazardous threat to the surrounding area.

The leak has since been repaired. The evacuated businesses were allowed to return to their stores.
No additional details were known.
