NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A girl was attacked while waiting at an MTA bus station on Tuesday afternoon.

A Metro Nashville police affidavit says the victim, who is a minor, was at a bus station on Charlotte Avenue around 1:45 p.m. when she was attacked by 24-year-old Airrell Cannon.

Cannon was seen on surveillance video waving the knife in the victim's direction. Video shows the victim backing up as Cannon comes closer to her with the knife.

The affidavit says the victim threw ice toward Cannon in an attempt to defend herself. The situation then escalated when Cannon attacked the girl, knocked her to the ground and cut her with the knife.

Cannon was arrested on scene and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
