‘Gone with the Wind’ coming back to theaters for 80th anniversary: Here’s where you can see it

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — One of the most iconic films of all time is returning to theaters 80 years after its initial release.

“Gone with the Wind” premiered in Atlanta on December 15, 1939. To mark its 80th anniversary, Fathom Events is bringing it back to theaters on February 28 and March 3.

The following theaters are showing the film in Middle Tennessee:

  • Regal Clarksville Stadium 16 – Clarksville
  • Regal Green Hills 16 – Nashville
  • Regal Hollywood 27 – Nashville
  • Regal Opry Mills 20 plus IMAX – Nashville

The film received a then-record of 13 nominations at the 1940 Academy Awards. It went on to win 10 awards, including Best Supporting Actress – with Hattie McDaniel becoming the first African American to win an Oscar.

It’s still considered to be the most successful film in box-office history.
