NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Goodwill is preparing for its annual Wedding Gala for brides who are shopping on a budget.
The Goodwill Wedding Gala opens its doors at 6 a.m. Saturday March 15 at the Rivergate Store in Madison.
Many members of the Goodwill staff spent much of the day sorting through nearly 1,500 dresses donated for the event. Many of the gowns are brand new and have never been worn.
Some of the wedding gowns would normally sell for more than $1,000 but Goodwill has marked them down considerably.
"Right now we're in the organization process to make sure that we're ready. We don't put the dresses in the store until the store closes at 8 p.m.," said Jamie Berry, Communications Manager for Goodwill. "So when we get out there, there are already brides in line waiting for the store to open the next morning at 6 a.m."
Wedding accessories as well as flower girl dresses, bridesmaid dresses and prom dresses will also be available to purchase.
