FRANKLIN, Tenn. - Several presidential candidates have been visiting the state this week.

GOP presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson spoke to the Republican Women of Williamson County Wednesday.

The sold-out event was held at Old Natchez Country Club.

“The problems that face they are not Democrat problems or Republican problems, they are American problems, and we have to stop letting everybody divide us up,” Carson said.

Carson is the former director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins and gained national attention for his 2013 speech at the National Prayer Breakfast.

Two other big Republican names -- Donald Trump and Rick Santorum – have planned to visit this weekend.
