NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Gov. Bill Lee spoke from the steps of the Capitol building with reporters on a wide variety of topics Tuesday morning.
Lee typically has a COVID-19 briefing scheduled for at least once a week, but this week there is not once scheduled. Tuesday's briefing with local reporters served as his only public event listed for the week.

The governor also spoke about COVID-19's impact in Tennessee. He said the state will not again shut down the economy as it did in the spring, saying public health experts and local leaders now have more information on how to combat the virus. Lee said he was encouraged by the reopening of classrooms across the state, adding a small percentage have closed due to COVID-19 outbreaks.
