NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Governor Bill Lee and Nashville Mayor John Cooper spoke at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new Operation Stand Down Veteran Service Center.
Operation Stand Down Tennessee provides and connects Veterans and their families with comprehensive resources focused on transition, employment and other things as they enter into civilian life.
The new facility has been in the works since 2008. Located in the 12 South area, the facility will provide career help for veterans. It also includes housing for 39 veterans.
Governor Haslam said he was proud to join the ceremony saying, "After eight years of community-wide efforts, this state-of-the-art facility will faithfully serve our veterans and their families."
