Tennessee Governor, Bill Haslam, discussed his recent trip to Israel with a crowd at Temple Main Sanctuary.
He said Tuesday night that he was inspired by the trip.
Haslam visited Tel-Aviv on business to promote trade and strengthen ties between Tennesseans and Israelis.
He told the crowd at the Temple Main Sanctuary about what he learned there.
“In the end, you can't help but visit Israel and be impressed by the economic dynamism there. You can't help but be fascinated by the political process, but if you don't walk away touched by the story of this land -- of this people -- well then somehow you missed something really big,” said Haslam.
Governor Haslam visited Israel in early September. While there he also met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
