A total of 15 local agencies and organizations have partnered together to to prevent and end youth homelessness.
The kickoff event was held Tuesday led by Oasis and the Metro Homeless Commission co-led, and the mayor spoke about young people being especially vulnerable.
Leaders with the Oasis Center talked about their experience trying to help. They received a federal grant to provide housing for that age group, but when it ended, they had to tell the people staying with them it was time to go.
The new task force will be providing monthly updates through the Metro Homeless Commission. They hope to have a plan in place in June.
