Governor Haslam has expressed concern over Wednesday’s mass shooting in San Bernardino, California.
He ordered all flags be lowered to half-staff in honor of the lives lost in the attack.
"All Americans are both heart-sick at what happens and scratching our heads about why do we have such a prevalence of that in our country right now."
The order came in a proclamation from President Obama which stated it was “a mark of respect for the victims of gun violence perpetrated on December 2, 2015, in San Bernardino, California.”
The flag shall be flown at half-staff until Dec. 7.
The mass shooting killed 14 and injured and more than 17 people at a developmental center in San Bernardino, California.
The FBI said Thursday it's possible that the killings were connected to terrorism, but that it's also possible it was workplace violence or a combination of the two.
Investigators are looking through social media and chasing down both foreign and domestic leads.
