NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The variety show Hee Haw celebrated it’s 46 year anniversary Monday. The show made it's prime time debut on June 15th, 1969. It was shot in a studio here at NewsChannel 5.
The comedy and variety show aired on CBS for two years before lasting another 20 years in syndication.
Roy Clark, Buck Owens, Grandpa Jones and Minnie Pearl were part of the country music cast.
A Hee Haw musical will hold its world premiere at the Dallas Theater Center on September 2nd before heading to Broadway.
