The Hendersonville intersection where first responders were struck by a vehicle over the weekend is prone to crashes.
The most recent incident on New Shackle Island Road at Drakes Creek Road happened Saturday night.

First responders had been called to the scene of a motorcycle crash when they were struck by a vehicle. They had just loaded the motorcyclist into the back of the ambulance at the time of the collision.
In the course of a year, officials said they respond to at least a dozen wrecks at the intersection. The speed limit in the area is 45 mph.
