HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Hendersonville man is in custody after he made a false report of armed robbery to the police Friday night.
According to Hendersonville police, 28-year-old Daniel Roland reported to them that he had been robbed at gunpoint on the 100 block of East Main Street, near the entrance to Drakes Creek Park.
Officers and detectives responded to the call to investigate the robbery, but learned during investigation that a robbery never occurred. The victim actually lost his money in an attempted drug deal in the Rivergate area.
Roland was arrested, transported to the Sumner County jail and charged with filing a false police report. At the time of writing, his bond and court date had not been set.
