WESTMORELAND, Tenn. - A Sumner County High School student suffered critical injuries and was flown from a game Monday night.

Sumner County School officials said Westmoreland High School freshman, Tyler Graves, was injured while playing Lebanon High School.

They said Tyler was hit during the third quarter in Monday night's game.

He was playing the safety position for the freshman team at the time he was hit, but officials said he also played as quarterback for the team.

After the hit, he was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Doctors there said Tuesday afternoon that Graves was listed as being in critical condition.
