Holiday Weekend Brings Citations, Deaths On TN Waters

The Independence Day holiday weekend brought dozens of water related incidents including boating citations, several damage reports, and even two deaths.

According to Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency officials, a total of 23 boating while under the influence cases were made.

There were also 12 property damage reports, seven serious injuries, and two fatalities throughout the state.

One of the reported deaths, happened on Old Hickory Lake in Clarksville.

A Goodlettsville man died when he fell overboard after watching the fireworks show. Officials said he was trying to pull up his anchor, but fell in without a life jacket.
