NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Nashvillians got to hear an amazing story of survival from a man who lived through the Holocaust.

Irving Roth shared his story at the Gordon Jewish Community Center Thursday night. The 90-year-old survived two concentration camps including Auschwitz.

Roth emigrated to the United States in 1947. He returned to Auschwitz 41 years later, and that's when he realized the importance of keeping his memories alive in the minds of Jewish youth.

He also believes our country could be headed down the same path if we're not careful.

"Stop the hatred. Understand your fellow human being. He and you come from the same place and will go the same place," said Roth.

Roth is the director of the Holocaust Resource Center of Temple Judea in New York.
