NASHVILLE, Tenn. - About two dozen people began the process of moving from a homeless camp at Fort Negley in Nashville, Tuesday morning.
A Metro Parks truck was sent out to the camp, located near the Adventure Science Center, to assist those who want to keep their belongings in storage.
Metro Parks Police said a few months back that they wanted to clear out the camp because of complaints about petty crimes and trash.
Around 50 people have been living there, and were told back during the summer they had to move out.
However, nothing will be thrown away.
Metro Parks Police said the Mayor's office and other groups like, Open Table, have been stepping in to help some camp residents find a permanent home.
Park officials said no forcible action would be taken today to help them move.
