Authorities were called to a rural area in Maury County after a homemade pipe bomb was discovered.
Maury County Sheriff’s officials confirmed they received a call Monday afternoon regarding a suspicious piece of property in the middle of Howell Road.
Deputies responded and discovered it was a homemade pipe bomb.
Tennessee Highway Patrol officials were assisting to detonate the device.
The area has been secured. No residences were in danger.
