Hopkinsville officer seriously injured in on-duty crash

CHRISTIAN CO., Ky. (WTVF) — A Hopkinsville Police officer is in the hospital with serious injuries after a collision while he was working.

Kentucky State Police said Officer Timothy Humble was patrolling on Dawson Springs Road in Hopkinsville when an 18-year-old driver in a Hyundai Electra ran into his police cruiser.

Officer Humble was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries.

The teenage driver was taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville with serious injuries.

Two other teenagers in the vehicle were treated for injuries in Hopkinsville. A third teenager was not injured.

The crash is under investigation.
