Identity Released Of Pedestrian Killed In Hit-And-Run On Bell Road

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A pedestrian has been killed in a hit-and-run, according to police.

Authorities said a crew with the fire department noticed a black male, identified as 38-year-old Chibuzor Diala, walking along Bell Road near Ned Shelton Road around 4:30 a.m. Saturday. When they passed by a second time, Diala was on the ground.

Emergency crews worked on Diala, but he passed away.

Officers confirmed it was a hit-and-run, and they added it was unknown who hit him.

According to reports, Diala's 2004 Nissa Maxima was found, still running, near the scene. Officials said the doors were locked, but they were not certain why Diala was outside of the vehicle.
