NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A fugitive wanted in Illinois was taken into custody after seeking treatment at a Nashville-area hospital early Sunday morning.

According to an affidavit, 29-year-old Jason Raasch came by Vanderbilt University Medical Center around 4 a.m.

It was not known why he was seeking treatment.

Hospital staff became suspicious of Raasch and conducted an Internet search of his name. They found he was wanted for filing a false report in Illinois.

At that point, doctors discharged him and he was taken into custody by Vanderbilt police officers.

Raasch was being held in Davidson County on a $250,000 bond while authorities in Illinois make their way to Nashville to get him.

His photo was not immediately available.
