An investigation has gotten underway after the death of an inmate at the Metro-Nashville jail.
Scott Haines died earlier this week, not long after Metro police brought him in for processing. Details of his arrest were not available.
NewsChannel 5 has learned that he was reportedly very agitated and then went into some type of medical distress, which ultimately led to his death.
Haines was a convicted felon.
Ten years ago, he was charged with dealing steroids and linked to a massive federal steroid investigation allegedly involving law enforcement officers in Middle Tennessee, including the Metro Nashville Police Department.
There is jailhouse video of Haines when he arrived at the jail. That will be reviewed as part of the investigation into his death.
