The ACLU has filed a lawsuit against the Tennessee Department of Correction claiming T-DOC's lack of treatment for inmates infected with Hepatitis-C is quote "cruel and unusual."
The suit was filed on behalf of two inmates diagnosed with Hepatitis-C who alleged the system denied treatment for their disease.
Officials with TDOC released the following statement:
"The Tennessee Department of Correction is currently unaware of the referenced court filing but is confident the department is providing adequate medical care as determined by medical protocol."
