In celebration of their 150th anniversary, Jack Daniel's plans to hide their signature barrels all around the world, giving hints over Facebook of where people in different cities can find the barrels, filled with Jack Daniel's items.
"We're going to be putting 150 barrels in 50 countries," Steve May, Jack Daniel's' director of Lynchburg Homeplace, said.
It's called the Jack Daniel's Barrel Hunt, and it's all about sharing the love of Tennessee whiskey that has been distilled in Lynchburg since back in 1866.
"Not too many businesses out there have survived 150 years, so we're really proud of it and we're here to celebrate and have a lot of fun this year," May explained.
While most people recognize the Jack Daniel's bottle from liquor stores around the world, the taste from inside the bottle is achieved inside their signature barrels, made specifically for Jack Daniel's.
For the barrel hunt, Jack Daniel's will be using Facebook to guide people, posting hints over the next 90 days to let people know where the price barrels will be.
"We're here to celebrate with our friends from all over the world, we're sold in 160 countries globally and we're trying to share the love," May said.
The first special 150th anniversary barrel will be given out on Friday in Lynchburg, the birthplace of Jack Daniel's.
