A jack-knifed tractor trailer caused a major backup on Interstate 40.
The semi lost control Sunday morning on the eastbound side near Fesslers Lane headed out of town. Cars were using part of the shoulder to get around the tractor-trailer.
The tractor trailer was the only vehicle involved. No injuries were reported. Officers were investigating whether or not rain played a role in the crash.
Officials with the Tennessee Department of Transportation said the interstate reopened around 8:45 a.m.
