Judge Approves Motion To Continue Tad Cummins' Trial

Two motions filed by Tad Cummins' attorney have been granted by the judge.

On Tuesday, attorney Brent Horst filed a motion to continue the trial and a motion to extend the deadline for pre-trial motions. Both were granted by U.S. District Judge Aleta A. Trauger.

Horst stated multiple reasons in his motion to continue the trial, including a previously scheduled trial he had set for January 8, travel arrangements with his family that were previously planned for Christmas week, and extensive discovery involved in the case, among other reasons.

Similar reasons were given in the motion to extend the deadline for pre-trial motions. One of those was that, according to Horst, meeting with Cummins has been time consuming since he's being held in Henderson, Kentucky, a five-hour round trip drive.

Horst also filed a motion to continue a status conference set for October 26 to a later date. That motion was also granted, with the judge rescheduling the status conference for 2:30 p.m. on October 30.
